Date set for 6th Annual Race for a Reason – Tony Hunt Celebrity Race Event.

That is the date of the 6th Annual Race for a Reason – Tony Hunt Celebrity Race Event at RPM Indoor Kart Racing in Sacramento CA. The indoor karting facility will again host the special day of indoor kart racing that benefits the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Sacramento and Northeastern California.

The day at “RPM” will feature 32 teams with four drivers each battling for trophies and bragging rights on the RPM tracks. Karting participants will race as a team on two different courses as well as competing in a pit-stop challenge. Early indications are that 5 – Time USAC titlist Hunt will be joined by stars such as Tanner Faust – 2007 X- Games Gold Medalist and D1 Drifting Champion. Road racing champion Joey Hand and three-time USAC Silver Crown title holder Jimmy Sills are also expected.

The competition is secondary to the primary goal of raising money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation which grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. 100% of net proceeds will be donated directly to the Make-A-Wish of Sacramento and Northeastern California. Last year the one day event raised more than $23,000.

Doors for the Sunday event will open at 10:00 am with a drivers meeting scheduled for 12:00 PM. Racing will immediately follow. Space is limited but those who would like to rub elbows, and race wheel to wheel with star racers from the Western region may do so for the cost of $200 or $150 before feb. 5th!.
